About cycle hire
- Do I have to wear a helmet?
We provide a helmet included in the hire price, to be worn for the cusomers safety.
- What's included in the hire price?
We’ll provide the bike, helmet, lock, map and cycle guide (if requested), delivery and a full breakdown service.
- What size bike is right for me?
When you order your bike and let us know your height we will allocate the correct size bike for you. If you have any requirements for your bike hire please use the additional information section on the booking form or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Can I cycle anywhere in Guernsey?
The maps we provide clearly show the different roads/pathways on the island. We ask you not to ride on the beaches, cliff paths, pavements or any other non-cycling designated area.
- Do you provide maps?
Yes we do, just let us know and we’ll leave one with your hire bike.
- Do you provide bike lights?
Yes we do, there is a £4 one-off charge for these, just select when booking online or let us know and we can add them to your hire.
- I have a baby/toddler/small child, what's the best option for carrying them?
We have child seats fitted onto unisex adult bikes, these generally take up to 20KG and are recommended for babies/small children that are able to support themselves and their head comfortably and confidently. A trailer can carry up to 40KG and has two small seats recommended for one or two small children able to support themselves and their head. A Tag-a-long is fitted to an adult bike and will take a child who can balance and feel safe cycling along behind.
All of these options are at the parent’s discretion.
- Do I need to pre-book or can I rent on the day?
Booking in advance guarantees the bikes will be ready and waiting for you to head off and enjoy your day! But we will also take bookings at any time of day, a £4 surcharge applies per booking.
- Can I rent for less than 24 hours?
All our rentals are in 24hr blocks, E-bikes are exempt from this. They are booked for the day of hire, morning to afternoon.
- Can I book a large group?
We can easily cater for large groups adult or child, pre-booking is recommended for a group discount.
- Should I choose a mountain or a trekking bike, what's the difference?
A trekking bike is a good all round comfortable upright ride for Guernsey's lanes, coastal paths and roads, plus it comes with a basket. A mountain bike has wider tyres and is good for exploring coastal paths and rougher lane and road surfaces but cannot hold a basket.
- Can I amend or cancel my booking?
No problem, give us a call or email as soon as your situation changes and we can sort that out for you. Please see our Terms & Conditions for cancellation policy.
- What if my travel to Guernsey is delayed or cancelled and I can no longer make it?
We understand that sometimes getting to an island is tricky! We will refund your hire amount minus any payment system charges incurred.
- How do I pay?
If you’re booking through the website you can pay at the time using PayPal or credit/debit card. Or if booking on the day you can pay by card or cash.
- Do you offer any discounts?
We can offer a group discount for six people or more.
A weekly rate is £45, making days 6 and 7 free as such.
|Bike hire is reduced by 50% in the second week of hire.
- Is my debit/credit card charged on the day of reservation or the day of bike hire?
If you’re using the easy online booking form then the payment will be immediate, but of course, we offer a refund if you need to cancel your booking in advance. There is a £1 surcharge for card payments.
- Will I need to give a deposit?
A deposit is not necessary for the majority of hire.
Delivery & breakdown
- What time do you deliver the bikes?
Just let us know when you would like the bikes delivered and we’ll have them ready and waiting for you at your collection point.
- Can I have my rental collected from a different point than delivery?
Of course. Please let us know when booking if you would like this option, or notify us at any time if your plans change.
- Is there a breakdown service?
We offer a full breakdown service and aim so be with you within the hour during high season (April to September) and two hours during low season. Please call 07781 103692.
- What if I get a puncture?
If you get a puncture, we’ll come and meet you to fix the problem as soon as we can and get you on your way again in no time!
- What if I have an accident/incident and damage the bike?
If this happens, please get yourself and the bike to a safe place and secure the bike then notify us as soon as possible. .
- Do you provide tools?
As a general rule we don’t provide tools for the bikes, but we do offer a full breakdown service.
